Today finished the development and testing of the license manager module. A new Ninja build was also deployed today including this new development. You cannot see any changes right now but this new module will drive the whole licensing mechanism after the Beta period expires.
In the next few days I will run some tests on the live server, too, just to make sure everything will work fine when it gets activated.

New feature: adding bookmark via email
As I described in the previous post struggling with the bookmarklets on the mobile devices was not a good idea. From now you can simply add a bookmark to your collection on mobile devices without having installed any bookmarklet:
- In your mobile browser tap on Share and select the appropriate menu to send the website link in email.
- Send the link to the following email address: add@bookmarkninja.com
- The bookmark will be added to your Catalog. You can check your Catalog bookmarks on the My Bookmarks page.
- In the Catalog you can add tags to the bookmark or you can move the bookmark to the Dashboard.
- Make sure you send the link from your email address which was used to create your Ninja account.

A big, big, big improvement coming soon...
Ok, let's be honest: the installation of the Ninja bookmarklets on the mobile devices is a big pain in the ass. Even when I started to implement it I already knew that it was by far not the best solution. But I had to deal with it due to the many limitations of the mobile browsers. There is no way to simply drag the bookmarklets to the browser's bookmark bar like in the desktop browsers and there are other limitations as well regarding how you can invoke the bookmarklets on a mobile.
Finally we managed to figure out how to add a bookmark to your collection on mobile devices without installing any bookmarklet or anything else. Very simple: tap on Share in your mobile browser and send the link to a dedicated bookmarkninja.com email address. Yes, I know I should have come up with this simple idea much sooner... :)
Due to the development of the new adding a bookmark via email feature and the slip of the implementation of the licensing, the Beta is extended until October 16, 2016.

Ninja is live again
Completed system maintenance, Ninja is back!
As a result of upgrading MySQL from version 5.5 to 5.6 Ninja gained a significant performance improvement.
If a user had 20,000 bookmarks in the catalog it took more than 1 minute to load them on the My Bookmarks page.
Now it takes 3 seconds!!!

Some UI related improvements
On the My Bookmarks page (both desktop and mobile):
- Changed the background color of the Tab and Category names (in the bookmark list) from white to light gray
- Replaced the '/' separator between the Tab and Category names with an arrow
- Changed the color of the Notes from gray to green
- Fixed a bug: After editing, moving or deleting a bookmark on the My Bookmarks mobile page, the icons of the navigation buttons were improperly updated.
On the Dashboard page (desktop):
- Changed the Category caption font from bold to normal. The bold font looked ugly in some browsers.

New Ninja deployment is out with minor bugfixes
Fixed issues in current deployment:
- In case of long Tab or Category names the width of the drop-down lists are not limited
- If the last used Category is moved then the "remember last used category" feature doesn't work
